The Mother Goddess is herself described as Vishwa Garbha and Swarna Garbha etc. The same name can be used for different Gitas because the word “garbha” itself holds many meanings in it. Others teach the Garbha Gita conversation between Shri Krishna and Arjuna which is distinct from the Bhagavad Gita. Some spiritual masters expound parts of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita that deal with human birth and life as Garbha Gita. Similarly there are Ashtavakra Gita, Avaduta Gita, Ribhu Gita etc, all having different contexts, influences and approaches but the same essence. Some conversations between Lord Shiva and Devi Parvati are presented as Guru Gita. There are many Gitas, the most popular being the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita. It is then called a Sacred Song or a Gita, in the context of our sacred texts. When the content of a conversation is arranged according to the patterns of our inner spirit, it becomes the music of our hearts. Music in turn is an arrangement of sounds. A song is a musical arrangement of words that convey emotions and thoughts in a particular context. But meaningful and profound conversations that appear in our sacred texts are also called “Gita”. “Gita” is the Sanskrit word for song or singing. Garbha Gita, is the content of the Blessing Before Birth. Each character in the Puranas is a facet of our Vijnanamaya Kosha, spiritual network. The Puranas are spiritual sciences composed in the form of stories and narratives. There are 18 MahaPuranas and several UpaPuranas that form the body of knowledge called “Puranas”. Skanda Purana is the largest of all Puranas with a total of around 81000 verses. The Skanda Purana details the events leading to the birth of Lord Skanda and His journey thereafter. The Garbha Gita is a conversation between Devi Parvathi and Her son Lord Skanda.
